Does my recipient need an account?

No. Your recipient (your HugOne) receives a simple link to their HugBox — a personal page accessible without signing up or downloading anything. No account is needed to read your message.

What formats can I include in a Hugz?

You can include text, photos (JPG, PNG), videos (MP4), and audio messages. You can also convert long text into a PDF directly in the editor.

Can I modify or delete a Hugz after creating it?

Yes, as long as your Hugz hasn't been delivered yet. You can edit the text, media, recipients, or send date at any time from your dashboard. Once the message has been delivered, it can no longer be modified.

How does the Capsule work exactly?

You create a Hugz and choose Capsule mode. You set a sending date. Hugete regularly reminds you to postpone this date. As long as you postpone it, nothing happens. If you don't, your messages are automatically delivered to your HugOnes. Your HugGuard can confirm or block the delivery.

What's a HugGuard?

A HugGuard is a trusted person you designate. Their role is to confirm or block the delivery of your Capsule if you haven't postponed the sending date. Your HugGuard never sees the content of your messages or the list of your recipients.

What happens if I don't postpone the sending date?

Accepted Answer

HugVeille sends you regular reminders (email, push, SMS) before your sending date. If you don't postpone the date, your Capsule enters activation phase. Your HugGuard is then contacted to confirm or block the delivery. Only after this final verification are your Hugz delivered to your HugOnes.

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your data is hosted in Europe (Germany) by Hetzner, in full compliance with GDPR. Communications are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are hashed, and files are stored on a private network not exposed to the Internet. Hugete never sells data to third parties.

Question 9

What happens to my data if Hugete shuts down?

In the event of a shutdown, Hugete commits to notifying all users at least 90 days in advance, providing a full data export, and ensuring the delivery of active Capsules before closure. Your words won't be lost.
