Can I create a time capsule for myself?
Yes, and it is one of our users' favourite uses. Enter your own email address as the recipient, choose a date — 5 or 10 years from now — and write to the person you will have become. When the day comes, you will receive the link to your reception page (HugBox) like any other recipient. Many people repeat the exercise every year, at New Year or on their birthday, building a genuine thread of correspondence with themselves over time.
What happens if the recipient changes their email address?
As long as the capsule has not been delivered, you can update the recipient's contact details at any time from your account: new email address, new phone number. It is one of digital's great advantages over paper. We recommend entering both your loved one's email and phone number: if the address becomes invalid, the text message serves as a backup channel so the link to the reception page (HugBox) still arrives safely.
Can I edit the capsule before it opens?
Yes. A capsule is not frozen the moment you seal it: as long as it has not been opened, you can reread your letter, replace a photo, add a video or move the opening date, directly from your account. Many users enrich their capsule over the years — one addition on each of the child's birthdays, for example. Once the capsule has been delivered to its recipient, however, the content becomes final.
Is the opening date guaranteed?
